Art of Jazz Singing and Killer Koolade

Last night was a fun evening out with my friends! We went to a workshop offered at the ROM in conjunction with the Beaches Jazz Festival called "The Art of Jazz Singing", with Elaine Overholt. Listening to ourselves as an audience being taught to sing was just hilarious! And then she had brave volunteers go up on the stage....and what do you know... Adam worked up the courage to go up there and sing in front of an audience of strangers! He was SO nervous, his hands were shaking...we could tell from the lyrics sheet he was holding! he he. But he had such a great singing voice, Elaine had no comments at all. Great job, Adam! You sounded great. Just keep on practicing, as Elaine was saying. The other brave volunteers did well too; she knew how to teach all right...and made all the volunteers confident enough to sound like a star! Even if for a few seconds. :) Of course, she's had experience teaching the likes of Rene Zelleweger (sp?), Catherine Zeta-Jones, and Richard Gere for Chicago. After the workshop, we went up to the fourth floor lounge of the ROM for drinks and food. Had a Killer Koolade...bleh...too much alcohol taste in it that Ryan and Adam drank most of it. Very nice atmosphere, I have to say. Too bad they are only open one Friday in the summer!! Weird, eh? Don't make sense to me at all.
